That's great Elizabeth. I am glad it is working for you. Like I said, I think it can only work for a special few. The eMarketer Twitter study says 20.6 million US adults will access a Twitter account at least monthly this year. A demographic profile of Twitter users from the Pew Internet & American Life Project found that 10% of US female internet users and 7% of US male internet users used Twitter. The service was decidedly more popular among younger adults, a result supported by other research. That compares with 150 million active Facebook users in the United States, 50% of whom log on to Facebook in any given day. I recommend Twitter for following, but think there are better places a REALTOR can spend their prospecting time and get better results.

Twitter has no value to Realtors? Well... I guess that makes me happy to read because it just means there's at least one fewer agent on Twitter making connections to potential buyer's and sellers.

Ed - I could not agree with you more regarding Facebook and Twitter. Twitter is an incredible search tool, and it compliments my RSS feed nicely. It allows me to meet others in the industry, and for me, that's important.

As for Facebook, I have been stressing the importance of lists in Facebook for about 18 months in my Facebook workshops. In fact, I tell agents that if they are not using lists, they are not using Facebook effectively. The sad truth is that fewer than 5% of FB users have their friends in lists. Combine custom privacy settings with lists and Facebook becomes extremely powerful.

As for Pages, they are important for big brands, but I haven't seen a local page that is much more than a place to add listings and posts about local news. This does get indexed in searches, but is it converting into business? I haven't seen it yet...

I'll be at Winter Conference on Thursday and I look forward to meeting you. Keep up the great posts.
