Dear friends and colleagues,

The AAR executive committee is pleased to announce effective December 1, Michelle Lind will become AAR chief executive officer. Michelle currently serves as legal counsel and assistant CEO. She has been involved with representing the association for 20 years and has served as the primary legal advisor to the association since December 1999.  Michelle will replace Tom Farley, who is stepping down after 15 years at the association, the last four serving as CEO.

Michelle is a proven industry leader and respected across the real estate spectrum — from the local to the national level. Her institutional knowledge of AAR, as well as her leadership, industry involvement and member interaction, were critical to the executive committee as it made this decision.  As Michelle transitions into her new role in the coming weeks, all senior staff will remain under her leadership.  Michelle, and the entire team at AAR, is focused on meeting the needs of the members in 2013 and helping you navigate the changing landscape of real estate in Arizona. The staff at AAR is passionate and excited about taking on opportunities to strengthen AAR on behalf of the membership, and have the full support of the AAR leadership team and executive committee.

AAR also plans to continue our relationship with Tom Farley in political endeavors and advocacy, retaining him as a contract lobbyist. Nicole LaSlavic, AAR vice president of government affairs, has been preparing for the upcoming 2013 legislative session and her team is well-positioned for the year to come.

Please join me in congratulating Michelle on her new role as CEO and thanking her and the entire staff at AAR for their commitment to making 2013 a successful year.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact myself or Michelle Lind.

Sincerely,

Holly Mabery

2012 President
