On October 13, Arizona Capitol Times held its 10th annual Leaders of the Year awards ceremony honoring individuals and organizations for advancing public policy to impact the state and lives of Arizonans in 2016.

The first award was presented to the Arizona Association of REALTORS® (AAR). Nicole LaSlavic, vice president of government affairs, accepted on AAR’s behalf and spoke about the importance of recognizing diversity among its more than 44,000 members and all homeowners throughout the state.

When asked why she thought Arizona REALTORS® was a leader among associations, LaSlavic mentioned how AAR elevates members through its education, risk management and lobbying efforts.

Other 2016 Leader of the Year association recipients included the Morrison Institute of Public Policy, Arizona Trail Association, Arizona Community Foundation and Barrow Concussion & Brain Injury Center.
