NAR Wastes No Time in Responding to DANGER REPORT
When the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) posted the May 2015 D.A.N.G.E.R. Report (Definite Analysis of the Negative Game Changers Emerging in Real Estate), it stated that the report “seeks to encourage an industry wide conversation about the most pressing challenges.”
During its initial rollout at the 2015 T3 Summit, NAR CEO Dale Stinton said, “There’s 50 challenges, clashes, negative events that could happen.” He went on to say, “With the help of the Strategic Thinking Committee, we hope to get feedback from members after they receive the report and that will turn itself into some action items.”
NAR Spokesperson Sara Wiskerchen added that the report “does not in any way represent the opinions, positions or conclusions of NAR or its leadership. We are neither celebrating nor disappointed in author Stefan Swanepoel’s perspectives.”
Although the issues and constituents are markedly different, the DANGER Report provide insights similar to a recent consumer experience study which DrivingSales Editor Mike Jeffs described as “eye-opening for automotive retailers.”
What these studies do have in common is information that can improve decision-making capabilities and reduce risk.
Starting next week, NAR’s Strategic Thinking Advisory Committee will begin discussing threats and challenges in order to create a strategic direction based on data that includes a national survey of nearly 7,900 REALTORS®.
