Arizona REALTORS® Supports Members Evacuated by Goodwin Fire
After burning nearly 30,000 acres south of Prescott, the Goodwin Fire was 96-percent contained in two weeks’ time, but Arizona REALTORS® did not sit idly by during this disaster.
Members posted updates and support on Facebook, including Amanda Creel, association executive for the Prescott Area Association of REALTORS® (PAAR), “My thoughts and prayers are with the firefighters fighting this blaze and the many who have been evacuated who are watching helplessly as the fire continues to spread.”
Arizona REALTORS® 2017 President Paula Monthofer responded with, “More of our members have been evacuated from their homes in the Prescott area. Some have been out of their homes, not knowing if they still have a home, for over two days.
“(We are) making preparations to assist in every way we can. (Arizona REALTORS® CEO) Michelle Lind will be in Prescott tomorrow morning — to find out how best we can help…the Salvation Army in Prescott is heading up relief efforts as well.”
In a letter to Creel from Monthofer and President-Elect Lori Doerfler, who also presides over the Arizona REALTORS® Disaster Assistance Foundation, was a $4,000 check to aid REALTORS® affected by the fire.
Approximately 27 REALTOR® members were evacuated during fire-containment efforts. PAAR shared a list of resources and opportunities to help and is active in gathering donations for all of those affected.
