2018 President Lori Doerfler Shares Values and Beliefs

During the recent 2018 installation dinner, Lori Doerfler was sworn in as incoming Arizona REALTORS® president, effective December 1, 2017. Here are some highlights from her inaugural address.

A year after I earned my real estate license, I actually asked to serve as education chair of my local association. Since that time, education and service to our profession have been my passion.

When I least expected it, some fellow members said I should consider running for treasurer (of the state association). I said, “I’m not ready.” And was told, “You will never be more ready; it’s our job to prepare you.”

On April 18, 2014, I was elected treasurer and here I am, newly-installed 2018 president of Arizona REALTORS®.

So, what are my values and beliefs as a Leader?

I BELIEVE Leadership is about service to one another.

I BELIEVE Leadership is valuing members by listening to them and seeking their counsel.

I BELIEVE Leadership is honest and transparent in decision-making.

I BELIEVE Leadership is about empowering others to be a part of the journey.

Within our industry, we have been talking about the many “disruptions” — or what I look at as “challenges” that could change the way we do business.

Arizona REALTORS® is working tirelessly to stay on top of the challenges facing its members in their daily work of putting people in homes and businesses.

I know that working together as a team we will continue to anticipate and meet any challenges before us!

I’d like to close with something my friend and fellow line officer Patrick Lewis said, “There are few times in life when you are fortunate enough to be a part of something that just feels special and momentous…this is one of those times.”

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank each of you for YOUR service.
