ADRE Rules Review Process
Submitted by Nicole LaSlavic, VP Government Affairs, Arizona Association of REALTORS®
The first action taken by new Governor Doug Ducey this past January was to issue Executive Order 2015-01, continuing a moratorium on rule-making that established additional review criteria for state agencies including the Arizona Real Estate Department (ADRE).
Per the Order, each agency was to identify areas that would reduce government regulation by repealing overly burdensome, antiquated, contradictory, redundant and nonessential regulations.
Agencies were required to submit these evaluations by September 1, 2015. In response, the ADRE issued a public notice that it would be conducting a comprehensive review of all real estate rules and soliciting input.
The Arizona Association of REALTORS®, including members of its Professional & Business Development, Risk Management and Legislative & Political Affairs committees, submitted feedback on behalf of the entire membership. Stay tuned for future developments.
